Caritas said climate change was one indicator of a world out of balance. Faith traditions and spiritualities have wisdom that speaks to our global ecological and social crisis. The long-term emissions targets for New Zealand need to enable us to reach net zero by 2040. There is a need to transition rapidly to greater localisation of production, prioritising the basics of life rather than unnecessary or wasteful consumption.
