Submission on the Natural and Built Environments Bill Exposure Draft 2021

Caritas supported the emphasis on protection and enhancement of the natural environment; giving effect to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and recognition of the role and place of te ao Māori; and the intent to make planning and environmental decision-making simpler and more efficient. We sought clarity around provisions to resolve conflict and balance different desired environmental outcomes.
