In Timor Leste, our partner Hamahon Feto Timor (HAFOTI) - meaning ‘Shelter for the Timorese Women’ - began implementing He Oranga Taurikura activities in 2021.

HAFOTI is a local non-government organisation comprising of a union of 27 small rural women producer groups across seven districts, to better enable rural women to generate income for their families.

The organisation’s training and mentoring activities ensures reliable local supply of nutritious fruit and vegetables and supply of produce to be sold profitably by HAFOTI members.

The HAFOTI women work together to support each other in business; including getting training in business skills, access to revolving credit and marketing their products together under the HAFOTI umbrella. These proceeds directly support the women involved, ultimately supporting their families and local communities.
