Case Study
Caritas is working in the Solomon Islands to strengthen the country’s network of Rural Training Centres (RTCs). These are vocational training centres that provide a range of practical skills for young people that enable them to return to their communities and make a valuable contribution, while earning a living.
Since 2020, we have worked with our partner in the Solomon Islands to enable far greater numbers of young women access the various training programmes being implemented by the RTC programme. These programmes include training in construction, mechanics and agriculture with many students now staying on-site in accommodation provided for them.
