Caritas Internationalis Global Year of Action
As a response to Pope Francis’s call for action in Laudate Deum, Caritas Internationalis has announced a Global Year of Action on integral ecology for the final year of the Together We campaign, beginning on 23 October 2023. As a member of the Caritas Internationalis network, Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand will be supporting and sharing this work including through social media, and invite all of our supporters and people of good will to be involved.
Global Launch: 24 October
To inaugurate the year, a launch event will be held in Rome beginning at midnight (NZDT) on Tuesday 24 October.
There will be a Zoom live-stream and a recording will be made available online. For details, check our social media.
The Global Year of Action is in line with Pope Francis’s vision for a new multilateralism based on bottom-up grassroots collaboration – as we discuss in our article on what Laudate Deum means for Caritas.
