Peace in the Middle East

Caritas launched the Peace in the Middle East campaign to support development programmes and provide humanitarian aid to those affected by ongoing humanitarian crises in places such as Syria, the Holy Land and Lebanon.

The aim of the Peace in the Middle East campaign is to enable New Zealanders to stand in solidarity and show support for the most vulnerable in the region, while ensuring that Caritas is able to continue working with partner organisations to make a difference.

Solidarity with Syria Appeal

Aleppo is a city ravaged by war, more than 100,000 have been displaced and many killed. Today the city is relatively calm but people are still in great need with essential food and medical supplies very low and many hospitals destroyed. You can make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable by supporting us as we work with our partners inside Syria.

Holy Land crisis

Our Peace in the Middle East Fund supports Caritas' humanitarian response in Gaza and the West Bank where ongoing conflict causes deaths, casualties and destruction of housing and infrastructure. It may also support humanitarian response to other places and emergencies in the Holy Land.

Pray for the Holy Land

Caritas promotes peace with justice for all peoples in the Holy Land - both in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories. We work through prayer, advocacy, emergency relief and long-term development.
