Our Regular Funds
Our General Emergency Fund allows us to respond immediately to emergencies around the world.
General Funds are used where they are most needed, for emergencies or for development programmes, in Aotearoa New Zealand and overseas.
One World Partnership is our regular giving programme. Contributions from One World Partners are directed where they are most needed.
Our Seasonal Appeals
Caritas runs an annual Spring Appeal, Winter Appeal and Christmas Appeal to support our work for justice, peace and development in New Zealand and overseas.
Our annual Lent Appeal on behalf of the New Zealand Catholic Bishops' Conference is our largest appeal of the year and supports our work of charity and justice for the poorest and most vulnerable around the world, including in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Throughout the year, but primarily in Term 1, the Caritas Challenge provides an opportunity for schools and youth groups to come together to demonstrate solidarity with those living with poverty or injustice.
During Term 2 in Catholic primary schools around New Zealand, Mufti Mania helps to build solidarity through raising money for schools in poor and vulnerable communities. This event is held in partnership with the New Zealand Catholic Primary Principals' Association (NZCPPA).
Our Regional Funds
As part of a global network, we are able to direct contributions to partners and programmes on the ground around the world. If you have questions about supporting a specific region or programme, please contact us.
The Pacific Relief Fund allows us to respond to the needs of our neighbours in the Pacific before, during and after an emergency. This fund has been used recently to support cyclone relief, to assist Samoa during the measles outbreak in 2019 and to strengthen Pacific response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Philippines Fund is flexible and can be used where it is most needed in the Philippines, including for emergency response and development programmes.
The Rohingya Appeal offers emergency relief for the millions of Rohingya refugees living in Bangladesh.
The Peace in the Middle East fund supports vulnerable communities affected by ongoing humanitarian crises in the Holy Land, Syria and Palestine.
The Africa Aid and Development fund is used throughout Africa to support communities in need through crises, emergencies and in development.
The Latin America and Caribbean Fund assists emergency relief and some development work.
