Social Justice Week 2017 workshops
Come join us as we explore how we can ‘weave bonds of belonging’ in our own communities! We are joining with local Church organisations to hold interactive workshops in Dunedin and Hamilton to reflect on disconnection and connection in our community.
As part of Social Justice Week 2017, we joined with Church organisations in Dunedin and Hamilton to facilitate workshops to help people recognise disconnection in society and the local context, share ideas on how we can rebuild community, and discuss concrete actions we can take towards weaving bonds of belonging.
We reflected on disconnection and connection in our community through the lens of Catholic social teaching in our Social Justice Week workshops.
We joined with the Dunedin Faith and Service Council with input from Dunedin Catholic Social Services to facilitate this workshop.
Where: Mercy Parish – Community Centre, 42 Macandrew Road, Dunedin South
When: Saturday August 5th, 9am – 2pm
We joined with the Hamilton Diocese’s Social Justice Office and St Vincent de Paul to facilitate this workshop.
Where: Gerry Sullivan Centre, Marian School, 30 Beale Street, Hamilton East
When: Saturday August 12th, 9am – 2pm
Entry to the workshops is free, a koha is welcome, lunch is included and all are welcome!
As part of Social Justice Week 2017, we will be joining the Auckland Justice & Peace and Palmerston North Justice, Peace, & Development Commissions for two events reflecting on disconnection and rebuilding community, as well as discussing ways towards weaving bonds of belonging.
We are joining with the Justice and Peace Commission of the Auckland Catholic Diocese to facilitate this workshop.

The Palmerston North Catholic Diocesan Justice, Peace, & Development Commission invites Caritas, community panelists, and politicans to participant in this public meeting.
Where: Palmerston North Diocesan Centre – Te Rau Aroha, 33 Ambesbury Street, Palmerston North
When: Saturday September 9th, 10am – 1pm
Entry to the workshops is free. Pelase bring a gold coin koha and a 'plate' for a shared lunch at 12 noon!
